First Interstate has been named to TIME's list of America's Best Companies 2026. The honor reflects our people, our performance, and the way we serve communities across our footprint.

This prestigious award is presented in collaboration with Statista, the world-leading statistics portal and industry ranking provider. The award list was announced on July 9, 2026, and can be viewed on TIME.com.

How the List Was Built

TIME and Statista scored companies on three areas. Together, they offer a full view of how a company treats its people, runs its business, and reports its impact.

  • Employee satisfaction, drawn from surveys of about 217,000 U.S. workers over three years, covering image, atmosphere, working conditions, pay, and equality
  • Financial performance, based on five years of revenue data, with a $100 million minimum for 2025 revenue, plus revenue growth, net income, asset growth, and return on assets
  • Sustainability transparency, built on an environmental, social, and governance index covering carbon emissions, board diversity, human rights policy, and anti-corruption practices

Statista publishes hundreds of worldwide industry rankings and company listings with high-profile media partners. This research and analysis service is based on the success of statista.com, the leading data and business intelligence portal that provides statistics, relevant business data, and various market and consumer studies and surveys

People Come First

Jim Reuter, President and Chief Executive Officer of First Interstate, said the recognition points back to the people behind the Bank.

“I’ve always believed banking is ultimately about people and relationships. One of the things that makes First Interstate special is our ability to serve everyone from family farms and small businesses to large commercial clients across the West,” said Reuter. “We can compete with community banks on relationships and with larger institutions on capability, but what truly differentiates us is our people. I’m proud of the way our team shows up every day with a spirit of hospitality and a no-nonsense commitment to helping clients succeed.”

What This Means for Our Communities

Our clients count on us for more than accounts and loans. They count on relationships that last.

We serve a wide range of clients, from family farms to large commercial businesses. That reach lets us bring big-bank capability to our branches while keeping the personal service of a community bank. Our teams live and work in the towns they serve, and that connection shapes how we show up every day.
